When to teach kids about financial responsibility

Overwhelming debt is a huge problem for Americans so it is never too early to instill good spending habits in our children. A good place to start is teaching them the difference between needs and wants and why it’s important to postpone wants until they've saved. Childhood is a great time to learn about compound interest through savings bonds or to use a savings account to demonstrate how a small amount of money can grow over time.
