Need to get out from an upside down mortgage?

If you need to get out of this difficult real estate situation where you owe more you’re your house is worth and are struggling to make the mortgage payments, a short sale might be the solution. In this situation, you agree to sell the house and get the mortgage company to take less than the full value of the mortgage. Since you cooperate with them and facilitate the sale, they won’t come after you for the balance owed and you can avoid filing bankruptcy and the resulting credit problems.
