The InvestmentNews article "Five ways for financial advisers to raise fees" by Lavonne Kuykendall provides five steps that advisors suggest other advisors keep in mind when raising prices. ACA member Bert Whitehead notes that he does not use asset-based fees. Instead he opts for the open retainer model which is calculated based on a less conflicted combination of real estate assets, income, the complexity of the account, time needed, how much responsibility the firm undertakes and investment asset value.
