Why Use an ACA Member?

Scope of Services

ACA members are best known for offering an open retainer agreement. You pay one annual fee and receive ongoing access to your advisor throughout the year. This open communication is critical to achieving your financial goals.

When you are a retainer client, your advisor will review every aspect of your financial situation: taxes, investment portfolio and strategy, insurance, estate planning, goals, cash flow, money personality, special needs, and more.  You'll receive recommendations that are integrated and appropriate to your situation.

In addition to the open retainer agreement, most ACA members offer several service options--one-time reviews, second opinions, and limited engagements.

Competency

ACA members must meet requirements that indicate they have the necessary qualifications to provide top-quality financial planning services. Members are required to maintain membership in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and hold the CFP®, CPA/PFS, or equivalent designation. Learn more about professional designations by reading the article What Do All Those Letters Mean?

Training

Each member must successfully complete our proprietary training program in providing holistic financial planning and meet some of the highest continuing education requirements in the industry.

Ethics

High ethical standards are the foundation of ACA's approach to financial planning. Members are required to adhere to the ACA Pledge to Clients and ACA Canon of Ethics.

  • Make some cash and make a difference

    February 01, 2012

It's so easy to become overwhelmed by the bombardment of bad news we see every day, and feel as if the little we can do can't possibly make a difference. Socially responsible investing, or SRI for short, is all about making money while making a difference.
