Group Instruction Information

Eligibility

Attendance at Group Instruction is dependent on you achieving specific training and practice development goals, which are defined in your interview with our Education Coordinator. Items that factor into your Group Instruction date include:

• Have you sat for the CFP® exam?
• Have you submitted all paperwork to become a Registered Investment Advisor?
• Have you completed an approved tax class?
• Have you successfully completed the Self-Study portion of the program?
• Do you have a basic marketing package in place?
• Have you established a location where you will meet with clients?
• How much time are you devoting to building your practice?

Training Facility

Qwest Learning & Conference Center

We use Qwest’s computer lab facilities – you will have your own computer during the training. Internet access is provided. You will be able to check your e-mail during the day.

Schedule

Our first event is dinner and orientation at 6 pm on Monday. Classroom instruction is 8:30am - 5pm Tuesday through Thursday and 8:30am - 12 noon on Friday. Dinner on Thursday night is a class event hosted by ACA.

Lodging

The Qwest Learning & Conference Center offers hotel rooms with one bed. ACA members receive a discounted rate which also includes dinner at Qwest on Tuesday and Wednesday night (ACA provides dinner on Monday and Thursday.)

Qwest’s amenities include a fitness facility, recreation room featuring complimentary pool and foosball, DSL, satellite television (with built-in VCR and complimentary movies available at front desk), and complimentary coffee in the café.

You are not required to stay at Qwest. There are other hotel options within walking distance, and we are happy to supply you with contact information.

Meals

Continental breakfast, lunch, and breaks are provided Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Dinner on Monday and Thursday is hosted by ACA. Dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday is on your own (or included at Qwest if you are staying there).

Travel

Denver International Airport (DEN) is located outside the city.  When making your flight reservations, allow 70-90 minutes for ground transportation.  A rental car is not necessary; we will supply you with shuttle service options and help coordinate ground transportation among class attendees.  Please make sure to book your Friday return flight for no earlier than 4pm so that you can stay through the end of the class.
