ACA hosts bi-monthly Member-Prospect calls to help prospects learn about the many benefits of ACA membership from the perspectives of current members. In addition to the information our members will share about their personal experiences, you will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about their practices. Ken Robinson, JD, CFP®, AIF®
Ken practiced law for three years, and spent the next ten as an insurance risk manager in the public sector. He passed the CFP® exam in 1999, but wanted real-world understanding of financial planning. So he joined ACA with the January 2000 training class, and has been glad he did ever since. ACA and its members have helped Ken build a thriving and expanding financial planning practice. A professional speaker, author of five books on personal finance, and producer of an acclaimed music video on the stock market, Ken says, “My corporate color scheme is blue, but if you cut me, I bleed ACA green.”
Lois Basil, CFP®
Lois Basil, owner of Basil Financial Group, is a Fee-only, Certified Financial Planner™ and a Registered Investment Advisor with the State of Illinois. Twelve years ago Lois opened her accounting business, serving small businesses, not for profit organizations and individuals. As Lois and her family were trying to make decisions about their own financial lives she realized how hard it was to find understandable and unbiased information. This prompted Lois to continue her education: she enrolled at Northwestern University in the Certified Financial Planner™ program and earned her CFP® Certification in 2011.
